SCIENCE CAMP—DAY 4: JANUARY 12, 2018
I wake up sadly, at 7:00, to the sound of Upasana's alarm. It is the last day of Science Camp, and I don't want to leave all the fun I had here.
I brush my teeth and quickly get ready for breakfast. We are let in, and it is cereal. Unlike some other cabins, we get chocolate cereal, something I gloat about later.
The day goes by a rush: me packing my heavy duffel bag, saying goodbye to Upasana and Erosion, cleaning out the cabin. Sometime in the morning, we all gather at the campfire for a kid in each cabin to tell about the fun times we had. Erosion chose me after the solo hike to go up for our cabin, so I hurry up onstage with the other chosen kids. When it is my turn, I tell a funny story about us fooling around in our cabin. After that, we are ushered out to finally bring our bags down to be loaded into the bus.
We are told to go to the bathroom before having lunch, so I do so, but unfortunately, I am stuck at the back of the line. When I finally get out, to my dismay, lunch is all over, and they have even had seconds.
Sunflower leads us inside the cafeteria, and gives us toast with butter. I bring this onto the bus with me to eat. It is my only lunch.
Once again, I am stuck in the back. Everyone is singing random songs from the radio and Science Camp, and we are all talking and laughing. The two-and-a-half hours pass by a little quicker, though, when we arrive, I am tired.
We all file off the bus a little before school ends, and people are checking for their bags. I locate mine, and wait for my dad to pick me up.
It takes a while, but he finally comes after a while. When I sit in my car to go home, I know that I will never forget the amazing adventures I had at Science Camp.
