Mixed Media

Hello! I am back with yet another painting. This is a mixed media painting. I used colored pencils, paint, and glitter glue as a final touch. My art teachers often did paintings based off of student ideas, and this was one of them. I was talking to my art teacher about the flowers in our neighborhood (we did have rather a lot), and she said, "Why don't you draw a flower picture", and of course I said yes! I first drew with pencil as a basic sketch. Normally, I would then do a Sharpie outline, but as it was already a black paper, I just went on to coloring. I used bright colored pencils that would stand out against the black of the paper. I used mainly a blue and green palette, but I also used some warm colors, such as gold and pink. Then, I outlined with a white paint, which is why I hadn't used Sharpie before (aside from the color of the paper). Finally, and this was optional, I used glitter glue that corresponded with the colors to add a finishing touch. I think this has been one of my best drawings from when I was small.
Flower Picture with a blue flower, pink flower, and a golden flower. On sides are glittery butterflies. Made with glitter and colored pencils, on black paper.
